Whatever you have spoken in private will be public knowledge,
and what you have whispered secretly behind closed doors
will be broadcast far and wide for all to hear.

Oh my God! Is it true? What would be our story
if everything we talked about (gossiped) at night was heard (gathered) in the light?
You can’t keep your true self hidden forever; before long you’ll be exposed.
You can’t hide behind a religious mask forever;
sooner or later the mask will slip and your true face will be known.
Therefore, let us persistently alter (transform) ourselves,
in this society which is accustomed (trained) to whisper
one thing in private and preach the opposite in public.
May it be dark night or day light! If we speak anything evil (sin),
the Holy Spirit within us will grieve (suffer).
Let us avoid tittle-tattling (rumours).
Let us, in love, transform (reform) everything.
